THE HISTORY

More than a century ago, our beloved Verbier was discovered by a group of mountain enthusiasts who hiked up to this natural paradise and foretold its potential as a ski resort.

Since the old Hotel Mont Fort first began receiving guests in 1927, Verbier has seen a lot of transformations, mainly the inauguration of the Medran cable-car in 1950.

Created within the walls of Verbier’s first Guesthouse, the Pub Mont Fort officially opened its doors in 1977, welcoming skiers and adventurers offering them a ‘home away from home'.

Our first burgers were served during the early 80’s, and this was also the decade where the word started spreading about our famous parties.

During the winter seasons from 1985 to 1995 Pub Mont Fort was the bar that sold the most Cardinal beer in the world, drawing attention to its now world-famous après-ski.

Since then, this iconic landmark of Verbier has been greeting the local community and thousands of tourists every winter and summer with its cosy and fun atmosphere.

Looking back with pride at the first clients that stepped through our doors and now looking forward to making another 50 years of history, with our ultimate commitment to giving our customers an unforgettable experience.

We’re Verbier’s premier bar.

Still the original, still the best.
